The experiential road safety training program of the Ioannina Traffic Department was a great success

The experiential educational program organized by the Ioannina Traffic Department and which took place last week (15-19/04) at the premises of the Panepirot National Sports Center of Ioannina (P.E.A.K.I.) left the best impressions on students and the public. ) in Limnopoula.

The basic philosophy of the program was to reinforce road safety rules through experiential education tools, which the participants could try and use themselves.

Driving, rollover and impact simulators, devices with special software to estimate reaction speed and correlate weight and impact speed, proved to be particularly attractive, piqued the interest of young and old alike.

In total, the program was attended by approximately 700 students from 18 different secondary schools and 200 S.A.E.K. students, while the two afternoons, which were open to the public, were attended by approximately 400 people at the Limnopoula facilities.

It is noted that the action of the Ioannina Traffic Department was carried out under the auspices of the Region of Epirus and its Civil Protection, in collaboration with the Institute of Sustainability and Safety “Zitima Zois” and the Institute of Sustainable Mobility and Transport Networks (I.MET.) of the National Center of Research and Technological Development (E.K.E.T.A.).
