At least 13 people were killed and six others injured today when a passenger van collided with a tanker on a country road in Lindi district in southern Tanzania.
In a press conference given by John Imory, police director of Lindy district, he said that 11 people died instantly and two injured people ended up being transported to hospital.
The accident occurred in the morning when the tanker swerved and entered the oncoming traffic, where it collided with the passenger van.
The police are looking for the driver of the tanker, who left the scene of the accident.
