Koutsogoulas: “My feelings cannot be described in words” – Football – Greece

Statements after the triumph over Milan and the conquest of the European Cup were made by Thanasis Koutsogoulas!

The captain of the Olympiakos U19, made it clear that he cannot express in words the feelings he has after the historic success, he described the second half that he and his teammates played as magical, while he added that Greek football has a lot of quality players, both both young and old.

In detail what the captain of Olympiakos K19 stated:

“I can’t put into words the emotions I feel right now. When the season started and we were playing in the Youth League, we said “get as high as possible”, that was the goal. And now, wearing this medal around my neck, is something I think I’ll never get used to.

We knew it would be a tough game, getting a team to the Youth League final is not easy. In the first half we had some classic chances, we could have ended the game early. We didn’t do it, we spoke at the break with the coach and said to keep calm, to trust the plan.

The second half we had was magical. The third goal (s.s. Bakula’s reverse scissors) must be the best in the history of the competition because I got the assist with my left (s.s. laughs). It was a really nice goal, many congratulations to Fanis for scoring it, he is not used to scoring goals. And the other two goals we scored were just as good.

I dedicate the trophy to the world of Olympiakos, to us, to the team, to my family, to my dad, my mom and my brother who help me. He is here in Switzerland and wherever I go he is by my side.

The goals are very high but it takes a lot of work to achieve them. Certainly, winning the Youth League is something that helps us all, it takes us one step further. But in general, Greek football has a lot of quality players, young, our age, older and I really believe that if all the teams continue as they work, Olympiacos, PAOK, Panathinaikos, AEK, can achieve equally great things, as we did something great today”.
