Abstention of the Rodopi lawyers for the judicial map

The fierce reaction of the lawyers of all Greece is caused by the bill for the new judicial charter, which the government has already put into consultation.

The Plenary Session of the Presidents of the Bar Associations of Greece that met on Saturday decided that the lawyers should proceed with demonstrations in protest of the new bill.

As announced, in fact, the lawyers will abstain from their duties, which will initially last from April 23 to 30.

The board of directors of the Rodopi Bar Association met on Monday, April 22, following the decision of the Plenary Session of the Presidents of the Bar Associations of Greece, and decided the abstention of its members only from the courts during the period from Thursday, April 25 to Holy Tuesday, April 30.

Permits will be granted upon request for the following cases:

1. Cases where there is a question of limitation – deadline.
2. Cases of temporary prisoners whose 12-month or 18-month term ends by 31-05-2024.
3. In criminal trials of the second degree with a prisoner, as a result of a first-instance conviction.
4. Criminal cases for misdemeanors when six years in the first degree and seven years in the second degree are completed by 05-31-2024.
5. Filing of supplementary proposals in cases of regularity, small disputes, etc., as long as the last day of the deadlines is completed on the days of abstinence.
6. Temporary orders and cases of an urgent nature.
