Nikos Bavellas was born in 1935 in Athens. He began his long journalistic career in 1957 at the newspaper “Eleftheria” as a sports editor. Afterwards and in the same reporting, he was employed in the newspapers “Niki”, “Athletici Echo”, the pro-dictatorship “Ethnos”, “Athens News”, “Eleftherotypia” as head of the sports department, “Apogematini” and “Fos ton Spor” ».

Nikos Bavellas worked for almost four decades covering many sports events as a reporter or head of the sports sections of newspapers. A serious and dignified man, he was an objective observer and analyst of the events without deviating or being biased. His articles were always pithy, short and to the point.

The Board of Directors bids farewell to the dear colleague and sympathizes with his sons, Tasos and Dimitris. Nikos Bavellas will be cremated tomorrow Tuesday, April 23 at 10 am, in Ritsona
