Dust and mud showers are the two features of tomorrow’s weather, according to the meteo forecast.
The episode with the transport of Saharan dust to our country, which is already underway, is expected to peak on Tuesday, April 23. According to the data of meteo, tomorrow, in addition to the greatly increased concentrations of dust that will limit visibility, mud rains are expected to occur mainly in the north and west of the country.
On Wednesday, April 24, the turn of the winds to the west will result in dust reduction in the Dodecanese and its progressive removal towards the east.
The forecast maps below show:
– With red shades the concentration of dust in the atmosphere during the lunch and evening hours of Tuesday.
– With yellow shades the areas where mud rains will occur during the same time intervals.
Tsatraphyllias: Beware of vulnerable groups
On the same wavelength and the post of Giorgos Tsatrafillias, with the meteorologist pointing out that vulnerable groups should protect themselves from the increased concentrations of dust in the atmosphere.
“Tomorrow Tuesday the concentrations of African dust in the atmosphere will be very high mainly in western and northern Greece and on Wednesday in the Aegean. These quantities may burden vulnerable groups who must definitely take precautionary measures,” he wrote characteristically.
Marousakis: Mud showers, dust and heat
The meteorologist, Clearchos Marousakis, also “sees” the start of the week with muddy rains, dust and heat.
As he explains on his site, the absence of winter this year led warm air masses from Africa more easily and more frequently to higher latitudes. When they encounter colder and more humid air masses on their way to the central Mediterranean, they form barometric lows which pick up large amounts of African dust on their way.
