Parallel actions at the 3rd MRC GLOBAL OLYMPIAD Robotics Olympiad

The 3rd Robotics Olympiad (MRC) GLOBAL OLYMPIAD (Minoan Robotsports Competition, which will take place at the Indoor Stadium of Nea Halicarnassus (Heraklion ARENA Dyo Aorakia) from Friday, April 26 to Monday, April 29, 2024 is awaited with great interest.

The Robotics Olympiad in its competitive part includes 36 country delegations that will compete in 19 events, some of which are Wrestling, Archery, Shot Put, Marathon, Football, Pentathlon, Relay etc. At the same time, 9 countries, including Greece, compete for the most innovative business idea in the unique online competition category Exhibition – Innovation. At the end of each day, the titles for the day’s events will be awarded and the awards will be accompanied by music and dance events.

This year, for the first time, the Robotics Olympiad will also host parallel actions, with the aim of promoting local elements to the competitors and visitors from all over the world, who will be in Heraklion. The Hellenic Educational Robotics Organization, as the organizer of the Robotics Olympiad, is supported by local organizations for the implementation of parallel actions that will strengthen the organization and highlight Crete as a tourist destination and a place worth living and doing business.

Specifically, three exhibitions are organized as follows: a) Exhibition of local Rural Development programs, b) Exhibition of household products and c) Exhibition of technology from Universities and Businesses. In addition, on Saturday 27 April 2024, two interesting thematic workshops will be held, the first entitled “Agricultural Sector and Innovation” and the second “Women’s Entrepreneurship in the countryside and new technologies”. The parallel events will continue on Sunday, April 28, with a Tasting by the Chefs’ Club, as part of the promotion and promotion of the LOCALTOUR project – “Eat locally”.

The organization of the Olympiad has already been placed under the auspices of the Hellenic Parliament and the Ministries of Development, Education, Religions and Sports, Digital Governance, Social Cohesion and Family, Maritime and Island Policy, Culture, Tourism, the G.G. of Research and Innovation, Equality and Human Rights, the Hellenic Tourism Organization, the National Foundation for Youth and Lifelong Learning and the Regional Directorate of Education of Crete.

Admission to the public is free for all exhibitions, events and competitions from 09:00 in the morning to 20:00 in the evening.
