Circle of contacts and meetings of Philip Fortoma in Syros

A three-day program with a rich program of work meetings and visits was held by the Member of Parliament of Cyclades of New Democracy, Mr. Filippos Fortomas, in Syros.

More specifically, on Friday April 19, the Member of Parliament participated in the meeting of the DEEP Cyclades and the Municipality. THE. Syros-Ermoupolis in the presence of the General Secretary of the EOT, Mr. Dimitris Fragakis, where organizational issues were discussed in view of the upcoming European elections and particular emphasis was placed on the unity that the party must demonstrate. Afterwards, Mr. Fortomas attended the Mass of the Akathistos Hymn at the crowded Church of Agios Nikolaos, Hermoupolis.

The Cyclades MP’s program included on Saturday April 20 a working meeting with the Mayor of Syros-Ermoupoli, Mr. Alexis Athanassiou, the General Secretary of the Greek Tax Agency, Mr. Dimitris Fragakis, the Deputy Mayors, Mr. Nikolaos Skeufylakas and Mr. Francis Vakondios, and the President of the Municipal of the Port Fund of Syros, Mr. Kostas Gaviotis. During the discussion, issues related to the destination, infrastructure and the course of this year’s tourist season were raised and “the opportunity was given to expand the dialogue about the extroversion that the island needs and that the Government through the EOT promotes“, as the parliamentarian pointed out.

The same evening, Mr. Fortomas attended the Hermoupolis Heritage organization event on “The Old Market of Hermoupolis” held at the Hermoupolis Textile Museum. The event uniquely revived an important landmark of Syros, “an excellent initiative that highlighted the culinary and cultural wealth of the island and its rich history“, as the Member of Parliament stated.
