Larissa: Lenten Consecration Event at the Cathedral I.N. of the Evangelist “Faneromeni” GOH

On the afternoon of the 5th Sunday of Lent, of St. Mary of Egypt, 28/04/2024, a topical Lenten Event was held at the Cathedral Church of the Evangelist “Faneromeni” in Larissa (Lappa 7 & Koumoundourou).

Under the care of the Reverend Metropolitan of Larissa and Platamonos, Mr. Klimentos, the twenty-member Mixed Byzantine Choir “Patrion Analogion” from Attica, under the Music Teacher Mr. Ioannis Kiahopoulos, performed church hymns of the period of Great Lent, from the Great Supper , the Preconsecrated Liturgy, the Consummatory Vespers, etc. A Choir announcer made explanatory comments before each hymn.

The Reverend Mr. Klimis delivered a speech about the true repentance that should characterize every Orthodox Christian especially during the period of Lent, in view of the holy Easter. He even cited impressive old and modern examples on the subject.

The successful Event brought together a large number of Clergy and faithful Christians, who received support to continue the good course in the spiritual struggle of Lent.
