“Minoas”: The largest anti-seismic exercise has begun

EXERCISE – EXERCISE – EXERCISE”.

It started immediately evacuation of public servicesbuildings and services of the local government, schools, with the workers, citizens and students due to the risk of an earthquake of 6 degrees on the Richter scale rushing to assembly points to protect their lives.

At the same time, the building of the Vice-region and the courts were evacuated and, at the same time, operations began to trap people from collapsed buildings, with the EKAV and the Fire Brigade operating in the facilities of the former Markopoulos Camp, in Xyloskalos, in the Samaria Gorge where there are supposed to be landslides, with their presence being felt throughout this scene which scenario-wise works in the exercise.

The same situation in Rethymno, with events in the Kotsifou Gorge and civilian injuries, traffic accidents with rollovers and evacuations, school evacuations and the collapse of the memorial fireplace in Koumbe, with injuries and evacuations.

In Rethymno and Chania, the coordination centers that have been set up have direct cooperation with the central coordination center of Heraklion, which also includes the thematic deputy governors of Civil Protection of the two prefectures for the management of the crisis based on the provisions of the exercise.
