The play premiered in the theater VAULT in March 2022 recording from the beginning continuous Soldouts and extensions, but also remarkable comments from audiences and critics.

It traveled and was presented with the same success in the Experimental Stage of THOK in Cyprus, in Thessaloniki, at DI.PE.THE. Ioannina, Patras, Drama, Karditsa, Agrinio and Corinth.

It is one of the nine performances of the theater project “MY SON…”. A theatrical festival of monologues, inspired and artistic director by Dimitris Karatzias, which brings on stage mothers of great Greek men. A Festival dedicated to the memory of Chrysa Spiliotis.

SUBJECT OF THE PROJECT

THE Elli Zachou Tachtsi, mother of the great post-war writer Costa Tachtsi, there was an unruly woman who all she wanted was to live free and be loved. Failed at both. She succumbed to the cruelty of her time and became crueler than it.

“His mother.” Disparaging, ironic, sarcastic address, but so intimate, so familiar. Said suggestively and always in a low voice. Almost whispering. Of those whispers that are stabs to the heart. But sometimes there are murders. “The son of this”, o Kostas Tachtis, was murdered. As he is “murdered” in this world, that threatens to expose his hypocrisy.

“My own mother”, one of the least enlightened persons in the mainly autobiographical writing world of Kostas Takhtsis. On which he relied to write his most important work. The “Third Wreath”. Which constitutes, beyond a record and an unmasking of the holy Greek family. And if “Trito Stefani” is identified with Greece itself, the story of his mother, is identified with all the hidden secrets, which we keep tightly locked in dusty trunks, piled in the basements of our souls.

THEY WROTE FOR THE SHOW :

… “Snowy and from a stage point of view highly functional, as it turns out, Kiki Mavridou’s play is blessed with an equally warm performance, directed by Vangelis Laskaris and performed by Rania Schiza. The actress, in a truly great moment, gives flesh and bones to a woman who fought to escape from the norms of the time, who was a victim and a perpetrator, who claimed her freedom and independence at a very heavy price. Her performance is riveting”… Tonia Karaoglou (Athinorama)

…”Remarkable performance, exciting, powerful and comprehensive text that stands out for its truth, directorial approach clearly abstract, which focused on the power of the text and the interpretive skill of the actress, who took it off with her moving interpretation. Rania Schiza took the weight of the whole show on her shoulders and responded in the best possible way. He captivated the eyes and attention of the spectators throughout the show and deservedly won a warm applause”…Annia Kanakari (kulturosupa.gr)

… “Rania Schiza in a unique performance. Tough, indomitable, a savage in an unimaginably modern monologue. A truly great actress, a tragic figure on the Vault Theater stage”… Nora Ralli (Editors’ Journal)
