Tatiana was born in the Venezuelan capital of Caracas and attended boarding school in Switzerland before studying sociology at Georgetown. She met Nikolaos Glixburg during a skiing holiday in Switzerland in 2003 and announced their engagement six years later – with the wedding being one of the high society events of 2010.

Shortly after the wedding, Tatiana Blatnik quit her job as an event planner for designer Diana Von Furstenberg. He lived in Chelsea and visited Greece with Nikolaos Glixburg for the first time in 2004, before moving to the country permanently in 2013.

Nikolaos Glixburg, who grew up in Britain, always dreamed of living in Greece, but his wife did not have the same desire. Tatiana Blatnik had spoken to Vogue about her feelings upon her arrival in the country. “I remember when we arrived it was like everyone was traveling in the opposite direction. I live a very simple life here. I work, I go to the supermarket, I cook, I walk my dog ​​and the Greeks have welcomed me as they would anyone else.”

Tatiana Blatnik worked with the Boroume charity to provide meals and publish a cookbook called A Taste Of Greece while trying to learn the language.

Over time she stated that she felt more comfortable living in Greece and according to the divorce announcement she will continue to live in the country.
