While the Kyiv awaits the tens of billions of dollars in military aid approved after months of delay in the US Congress, Russian diplomat he commented that the funds will be “pocketed” and “tens of thousands of Ukrainians will be sent to the meat grinder”.
On Saturday, the House of Representatives approved nearly $61 billion in military and economic aid to Kiev that Joe Biden has been requesting since the fall. The bill remains to be approved by the Senate and signed by the US president.
For Russia’s deputy ambassador to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, there is nothing worth “celebrating” in the development: “more money will be pocketed, weapons will be stolen” and “tens of thousands of Ukrainians will be sent to the meat grinder”, he judged via X, assuring that the defeat of the “Kiev regime” is “inevitable”.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Smykhal said on Facebook that the 50 billion will be spent on his country’s defense, especially air defense and longer-range weapons.
Part of the amount will be allocated to the repair of critical infrastructure, he added.
The country’s energy infrastructure has recently suffered extensive Russian bombing.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, for his part, described the development via X as “a bad day for (Russian President Vladimir) Putin” and “whoever dared to think that America would waver on what and who it supports”.
