Costas Arzoglou made a post regarding what he had previously stated about the director Costas Kostopoulos, who is on trial following a complaint by the actress, Elena Athanasopoulos, that he had raped her in the summer of 2010.

The well-known actor had stated about a month ago, regarding the case that is being heard in the Joint Jury Court: “I know many things about who the director is, I don’t know who the complainant is, but a lot of things seem strange to me from what it claims. This whole metoo story has bred not only victims, who found the courage to say what they’ve been through, but I think it also brought in some girls who found an opportunity through the general metoo climate to get their revenge. This is the real revenge.”

Costas Arzoglou, however, returned to the issue through a post he made on his personal Facebook account, with him making a 180 degree turn in his opinion, and explaining that this is due to the communication he had with Katerina Didaskalou, the who, in her testimony in court, had revealed that she herself had been the victim of a sexual assault by the former director of “Sasmos”.

“Several months ago, I stated that Kostas Kostopoulos, as assistant to the director Koutsomytis, helped me with the “dyed red hair” and the “execution” of Ionas Dragoumis, series that were filmed in many regions and many countries. However, my image of the one who was accused by Mrs. Athanasopoulou, an actor I did not even know, was completely changed by the testimony of Mrs. Katerina Didaskalou and our communication. I am deeply sorry for my friend Kostopoulos until then, I am very sorry for Mrs. Athanasopoulou, but at the same time I am sorry for myself for making such a mistake. I am always on the side of the rape victims,” ​​Kostas Arzoglou wrote characteristically in his related post, with Elena Athanasopoulou republishing it, and writing to him: “Thank you from the depths of my soul, O Man!”.
