I hope their children never see them like I saw you.”

“My dad (my badauli as I called you), I love you immensely and you will give me immense strength until I come to meet you too.

A week ago your brother died, we never told you so your condition wouldn’t get worse. We wanted to tell you little by little when you would leave Attica. But some made sure that you never left that room of the Vascular surgery clinic.

Professor Kakkisis was saying that you were doing well and that you didn’t need more support when you passed out from shortness of breath. My brother was begging him to put you on the platform for ICU or to find you an ICU and they looked at us with wonder because they said that your tests were excellent.

I never expected that this moment would come when the pain of this loss would tear my soul once and for all. I did what I could, I turned the earth upside down. I did not make it. I apologise.

Earlier it became known that Alexis Kougias took over the representation of the family of Yiannis Kallianos in the case of the hospitalization of Dimitris Kallianos at the Attikon hospital, while the administrator of the institution issued a related announcement, informing that he has ordered an investigation into the incident.

“Following yesterday’s press release of the P.G.N. “ATTIKON” announces today 25/4/2024 the death of Dimitrios Kallianos and we express our deepest condolences to his family. In order to investigate all the hospitalization conditions of the incident from the day of his admission until today, the Administration of the P.G.N. “ATTICON” ordered the conduct of a Sworn Administrative Examination.

The timeline of the case

Dimitris Kallianos, father of the meteorologist and New Democracy MP, passed away on the morning of Thursday, April 25, after hospitalization at Attikon Hospital. Yiannis Kallianos on Wednesday, April 24, in a video he uploaded on social media, broke out about the way they were treated by the hospital, when they went there, due to the critical state of his father’s health, from Aklipieio Voulas.

Unable to hold back his tears, Mr. Kallianos said: “Today half of my life was cut off. I still hope that with the help of the Virgin Mary, the rest will not be cut. They will pay dearly for what they did to my father.

As he describes: “I want to say some things not to make you feel sorry for me but to expose some people who have brought my family to this situation. My father has many health problems as he is also on dialysis and has diabetes. 15 days ago he entered Voula as he blackened his finger since he has a diabetic finger.

He was treated very well in Voula but was told that such big issues cannot be treated properly and he should be in another hospital. My father went to this hospital and had his big toe amputated. For the next five days he was doing well. On the sixth day he was full. My brother is a doctor in Cyprus and he came and saw him and told him to get on the platform and be admitted to the ICU.

The doctors told me that we all sign that Mr. Kallianos is fine. My brother begged them to put him in MAF. My tears have dried up. I begged them to put him in an ICU. Finally, my father pulled out today and was intubated. Because what my father went through, many people will have gone through, they can’t imagine what they have to go through from me and my brother. Things are difficult but I hope he succeeds. He had no oxygen at all and a nurse came by every 4 hours.”
