--

The journalist and collector, Aris Loupasis, published on his personal Instagram account a rare photo, in which Tolis Voskopoulos shares the stage with Georgia Vassiliadou.

Aris Loupasis writes in his post:

“Tolis Voskopoulos with Georgia Vassiliadou in the early 60’s on the theater stage of Peroke, where he appeared as an actor before starting his great career in folk singing.

During this period he decides to put on his own theatrical production which creates huge debts for him. And to make up for it, he locks himself in a room for 24 hours to learn the bouzouki, a gift from his friend Kostas Hatzichristos, who suggests that he join him on a tour throughout Greece.

The conductor of the troupe is Lykourgos Markeas, who immediately recognizes his special musical gift and recommends him in 1963 to the record company Columbia, where he records his first song entitled “Step by step”. The journey towards the dream has already begun…”.
