Mr. Theoharis stated that “from May 1, the process of paying traffic fees per month will be activated

Taxpayers who have immobilized their cars will be able to pay monthly registration fees in the near future.

As stated by the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Haris Theocharis, the myCar platform, through which traffic fees are paid by the month, is scheduled to open on May 1st.

More specifically, Mr. Theoharis stated that “from May 1, the monthly fee payment process will be activated. However, the fine provided for the case where someone moves his vehicle, while he has declared it stationary, certainly applies as it is. And it is a fine of 10,000 euros, because it is a very serious violation.”

Taxpayers will be able to digitally immobilize their vehicle before Easter and pay road tax for as many months of the year as they want.

Vehicle owners who have immobilized their vehicles will be able to remove the immobility again this year by paying monthly traffic fees. The amount to be paid depends on the months the owners choose to drive the vehicle. For one month they will pay 1/12 of the traffic fees, for two months on 2/12, for 3 months on 3/12, for 4 months on 4/12 and so on. E.g. The owner of an I.X. with an annual fee of 120 euros, if they digitally immobilize their vehicle for one month, for April, they will pay a fee of 10 euros.
