Road charges: Reductions in fines

Reductions in fines from 2025 are brought by the Ministry of Finance for those who pay their road tax late.

In the plans of the Ministry, the fines from the following year are to be calculated on a staggered basis and not equal to the traffic fees from the first day of delay valid until today. Therefore, it means that the earlier the late payment is made, the smaller the penalty will be.

In addition, the new framework for determining traffic fees will take into account many more factors such as environmental criteria but also the costing framework of alternative fuel vehicles, as well as EVs, hybrids, etc.

From May the fees per month

But before the changes of 2025, within May, the format of the fees as well as what is done with the immobility status of the vehicles will change. Thus, 150,000 vehicle owners who had immobilized them will be able to use them by paying reduced fees.

If someone re-markets their car for one month they will pay the corresponding amount corresponding to one month, the same for two months and so on.

However, the vehicle should be insured before it is immobilized, and AADE will be able to detect through electronic tools and a link with the Association of Insurance Companies if there is an active insurance policy.
