Recall of a batch of smoked trout after investigation of a complaint to the EFET.
In particular, after an inspection carried out by the Food Hygiene Department of the Directorate of the Athens Veterinary Center of the FSAAT on a product of the company “G. PANAGIOTOPOULOS I. BAKATSIAS OE. FISH CULTURE” the presence of the pathogenic microorganism Listeria monocytogenes was found.
As a result, the company recalled the following products as a precaution:
- “Smoked Karpenisiou Trout (fillet)”, with the trade name “fresco” and production date from 23.01.2024 to 10.04.2024 (expiry date from 22.05.2024 to 08.08.2024).
- “Smoked Marinated Trout of Karpenisi (fillet)”, with trade name “fresco” and production date from 24.01.2024 to 09.04.2024 (expiration date from 21.08.2024 to 05.11.2024).
- “Smoked Trout of Karpenisi (whole)”, with trade name “fresco” and production date from 24.01.2024 to 28.03.2024 (expiration date from 22.07.2024 to 24.09.2024).
The company also issued an information to consumers, which has been posted on its website (http://fresco.com).
The EFET in collaboration with the Department of Agricultural Economy & Veterinary Medicine of the Regional Unit of Evrytania are continuing the controls and the company has been placed under surveillance. Consumers who have purchased the above products are asked not to consume them.
