The POKEL – Cultural Center for Teachers of Larissa prefecture offered books to Gonnon High School to enrich the school library. At the same time, the school’s teacher, Evangelia Stogianni, prepared for the students an activity for World Book Day “What should books be?” in the presence of the manager, Dimitris Filippopoulos. He invited the president of POKEL, Argyris Giourukis and they talked about books, listened to verses set to music and students of the 2nd High School read excerpts from selected books.

April 23rd was established as World Book Day, with the aim of promoting, promoting and reading books to young people, it is the celebration of publishers and copyright. The date was first chosen in 1925 by Catalan booksellers and established in 1995 by UNESCO because William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes died on April 23, 1616.
