The video captured by a doorbell camera in Oregon, which shows frame-by-frame the woman being grabbed by an unknown man, is causing shock. After this video was released, the kidnapping suspect was arrested.
Specifically, according to ABC News, the victim was found safe. The suspect and victim knew each other, noting that this was not a random attack. The video was taken at around 10.45pm on Sunday night.
What does the video show?
In the video, it appears to show a bespectacled woman ringing the bell and waiting for someone to answer. A man with a beard is seen approaching her and pulling her away against her will, according to police.
The woman was “screaming for help before being picked up and dragged away by the man pictured above,” police said in the report, which includes stills of the woman and the man from the video. “It appears they left in a white pickup truck,” police said.
The suspect was taken into custody
Police said they were made aware of the apparent kidnapping Monday morning and released images of the suspect and victim to try to get the public’s help.
By Tuesday morning, police said the suspect and victim had been identified and the suspect was in custody. The suspect, whose name has not been released, is charged with kidnapping, police said.
