“Flammable” remains the climate in Europe with the moves “psychological warfare” between NATO and of Russia to continue.

After Russia warned Poland that it would be a “legitimate target” of Moscow if it accepted NATO nukes on its territory, another move has come to stir the stagnant waters and raise the fever.

As iz.ru reports, the newly formed Leningrad Military District is being reinforced with new formations. In fact, a separate missile brigade has been created in Karelia, i.e. on the border with the newly established NATO Finland.

This brigade is armed with Iskander-M missile systems, Russian Defense Ministry sources told Izvestia. In addition, the 11th Army Corps in the Kaliningrad region, as well as the 14th Army Corps in the Murmansk region, were transferred to the area. Russian experts call the strengthening of the northwestern border a timely and adequate response to Finland’s accession to NATO.

“The formation of a missile brigade is a very timely decision. This is an adequate response to Finland’s accession to NATO,” former Baltic Fleet commander Admiral Vladimir Valuev told Izvestia.

“If the worst comes, the missile brigade will confidently speak to NATO forces that pose a threat,” he added.
