Sanctions for the first time in the history of USA against an entire unit of the Israeli army bring to light a major governmental crisis.
Anthony Blinken has blacklisted a specific unit of the Israeli army “the Order of Judah” as it is translated into Greek with the United States underlining that there is hard evidence that shows that this particular unit consisting only of ultra-orthodox Jewish men has committed crimes against humanity. Sources close to the US Secretary of State even state that instead of protesting and proceeding with “crowns” against Anthony Blinken, Israel should consider itself very “lucky” as the initial proposal of the head of American diplomacy included other units…
“Challenge”
The specific move initially surprised Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu, as it had happened two months ago when Joe Biden had then announced for the first time US sanctions against settlers for the way they oppress the Palestinians in the occupied West Bank territories. And then Tel Aviv officially emphasized that the American move is “a challenge especially at a time when Israel had received the extreme and unprovoked attack by Hamas on its lands”. Yesterday, Benjamin Netanyahu openly stated that he will “fight with all his might such decisions wherever they come from” and the Israeli Army officially stated that this particular battalion continues to operate inside Gaza until there is official information…
However, the specific move by the US brings to the surface a crisis that Netanyahu certainly does not want. This crisis has nothing to do with the public image of the country as all that “Bibi” clearly cares about is staying in power by any means. One sure way to stay in place was the escalation that came with the Iranian attack. The response from Israel, which even now no one has officially adopted, was such that this “way out” ceased to exist for the Israeli prime minister. With a “stepping stone” to the limited blow, Netanyahu’s far-right partner, Itaman Ben Gvir came forward, being the only one, making a one-word description of “weak” on social media. This particular move opened the bag of Aeolos inside the government but did not change the climate… The US sanctions, as if planned, came to create this front for the Prime Minister of Israel.
Extreme attitude
In just two hours yesterday, the minister without a portfolio but with a lot of experience, Gallad, hastened to characterize Ben Gvir’s attitude as extreme and an attitude that certainly does not befit a minister of the country’s government. In any case, with slow but methodical steps, the USA seems to be implementing every commitment and every warning they have expressed to the Government of Israel. After all, the day is not far away when the head of the US Senate, Schumer, called on the people of the country to change the Government… Obviously, the US has both the capabilities and the diplomatic skills to help in this direction, as they do not hide that they want an immediate closure of all fronts with the presidential election now less than six months away.
