THE Dmitry Peskovrepresentative of its president of Russia, Vladimir Putinreceived negative criticism after his statement that the influencers his daughter lived in “Spartan conditions” and struggled to make ends meet while studying in Paris.
“It’s one thing to be a child of nepotism, to live a luxurious life and have no ambitions, and it’s quite another to have to struggle every day and have to overcome problems and make decisions – about where to live, how to save money, when will you buy something”, continued the 56-year-old politician who explained that he sent his daughter abroad “because times were different then”.
Members of the opposition, however, called Peskov a pathological liar for what he said in his interview. Recently, an investigation by the foundation of jailed political opponent of Putin, Alexei Navalny, claimed that Peskova and her mother had bought a two million dollar apartment in Paris, while Peskova’s clients include Russian ministries. In March 2023, it was revealed that it had increased its revenue by 70 times compared to the previous year, with a turnover of almost two million dollars. Peskova is on the list of people who have been sanctioned by the US and the European Union.
