Together with the Israeli chief of the general staff of the country’s armed forces they are assessing the situation
Another hot day in the Middle East, but an attack on the Jewish state, the Israeli military revealed today and confirmed videos posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
More specifically, The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the Israeli Arrow air defense system intercepted a missile fired over the Red Sea aimed at the Israeli city of Eilat.
The Israeli city of Eilat is the only Jewish state in the Red Sea, so we are dealing with a city in southern Israel, whose population does not exceed 50 thousand inhabitants.
The spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, said that the long-range Arrow air defense system intercepted the surface-to-surface missile that was fired at Eilat.
The weapon in question was intercepted over the Red Sea, and no injury or damage to the Jewish state was reported.
Material posted online, specifically a video on X, appears to show the inbound threat being intercepted.
To add that Jerusalem did not reveal who launched this rocket, however reports suggest that the weapon in question was launched from Yemeni territory, most likely by the Houthi rebels.
Last week, a ballistic missile was confirmed to have been fired by the Iran-backed Houthis, again targeting the Israeli city of Eilat. Even then, however, the Arrow system had managed to neutralize the threat.
