Reuters: Qatar, CIA and Mossad meeting on Israel-Hamas war

The Reuters agency is talking about a tripartite meeting in Qatar between the CIA, Mossad and the prime minister of the Arab state about the war in Israel with Hamas.

The agency reports that a tripartite meeting was held in Qatar today between the heads of the CIA and Mossad and the Qatari prime minister to discuss the parameters of an agreement on the release of hostages and cessation of hostilities in the war between Israel and Hamas.

Citing a source reportedly briefed on the meeting, Reuters reported that the talks also included a discussion of the possibility importing fuel into Gaza for humanitarian reasons. So far food and medicine have been trucked in, but no fuel.

The news of the release of 10 to 15 hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip was originally written yesterday. In particular, it was reported by the French news agency that Qatar is conducting the negotiation “in coordination with the United States to achieve the release of 10 to 15 hostages in exchange for a two-day ceasefire” from Israel.

Already, Qatar participated in the negotiation that resulted in the release of four hostages in October, namely an American woman and her daughter, as well as two Israelis. It is recalled that it hosts the Hamas politburo and has provided millions of dollars in financial aid to Gaza.

Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdelrahman Al-Thani on Sunday expressed his country’s determination to continue mediation despite the difficulties “caused by the actions of the Israeli occupation.”
