THE Kate Middleton she just had another royal first! The Princess of Wales made her debut as Colonel-in-Chief of the 1st Queen’s Dragoon Guards (QDG) at Robertson Barracks, Dareham in Norfolk on Wednesday 8 November.
The 1st Queen’s Guards was formed in 1959 from the amalgamation of the two senior cavalry regiments, the 1st King’s Dragoon Guards and the Queen’s Bays. The QDG specializes in seeking out and identifying the enemy and understanding how they operate. Its members have moved around the world, most recently deployed to Mali as part of a peacekeeping operation.
Kate Middleton wore a camouflage uniform and helmet during her first visit to the Constitution. He didn’t forget her red poppy pin, a symbol used since 1921 to honor servicemen who died in war, and members of the royal family wear the accessory in November as Remembrance Day approaches.
Corporal Darreyl Tukana said the princess was “natural talent” in driving an armored vehicle, according to the Telegraph. “She drives a Land Rover back home – I told her to keep that in mind. “Just take it slow and get back to where we started.” Tukana stated. “She enjoyed every bit of the journey itself, as the vehicle she drove is different and bigger than hers.”
Kate herself reportedly noted about the chariot she drove: “It’s very versatile actually, given its size.”

The Princess of Wales was briefed by the regiment’s senior officers and had the chance to see how the teams communicate by radio and learn about the use of reconnaissance drones – even trying to fly one herself.

He also met with the families of QDG staff to hear their experiences, as well as the social support they receive.
At the same time, he presented certain awards certain awards, such as long service and good conduct medals to many men and women of the regiment. One of the most enjoyable moments was when he promoted a pony from lance corporal to corporal.

The summer that passed us by King Charles appointed the wife of his son, William, as colonel. Previously Kate Middleton had become a colonel of the Irish Guards and a royal honorary pilot.
