The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the army has destroyed 130 Hamas tunnels since the start of the ground offensive in Gazaa. “IDF combat engineers are currently working to uncover and destroy Hamas terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, including tunnels.
Water and oxygen storage discovered inside tunnels suggest Hamas preparations for extended stays underground,” the IDF reported. Yesterday it announced that it had destroyed a Hamas tunnel near a UNRWA-sponsored school in the Beit Hanoun area of northern Gaza.
The IDF also shared a video it purportedly shows the disaster “near the school” via drone camera. Israel began striking Gaza after Hamas attacks on October 7 killed 1,400 people and took more than 200 hostages.
The IDF also confirmed the death of one more soldier bringing the number of soldiers killed in the ground attack to 31. Hamas’ health ministry says that the number of people killed in Gaza has risen to 10,569 since Israel’s retaliation began.
