Gaza surrounded and divided in two by the Israeli army

Israel’s army has completely encircled the Gaza Strip and divided it in two, according to Deputy Minister Daniel Hagari.

Israeli Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herchi Halevi says the army is “ready at any moment to go on the offensive in the north” as it has been defending itself against daily rocket and rocket attacks by Hezbollah in recent weeks.

“We set a goal to improve the security situation on the border, not only in the Gaza Strip,” Halevi said during an assessment at the 210th Division in northern Israel today.

Hamas, on the other hand, says that the Israeli army is carrying out “intense shelling” around several hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, shortly after cutting off telecommunications.

Sirens in Tel Aviv

Rocket sirens are also sounding in Tel Aviv and other communities across central Israel as a fresh barrage of rockets is fired from the Gaza Strip.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah said it fired Katyusha rockets at the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona today in retaliation for an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon that killed a woman and three children.

In a statement, Hezbollah said its attack was carried out in response to Israel’s “brutal and brutal crime”.

The Israeli military later announced that an Israeli citizen had been killed in Hezbollah shelling over the border, as tensions have escalated between Israel and the Shiite militant group amid the war in Gaza. The army did not specify where the Israeli was killed.
