Emily Hunt, an 8-year-old girl from Kibbutz Beriwhere she was considered dead after the Hamas attack on October 7, she is now believed to be alive and among those held hostage in Gaza. The family was informed of this by Israeli authorities five days ago, Channel 12 reports.
Her sister even sent her a message while looking at the camera: “I want to tell you that we are doing everything to get you home. We know you’re being held hostage. We love you so much and miss you».
Natalie said her family cried a lot for Emily when they were told she had been murdered. “We were told he had been murdered. We were in mourning. But on October 31 we were told that it is very likely that he has been kidnapped».
The 8-year-old was at a friend’s house in the kibbutz on October 7, and her friend and her friend’s mother were also kidnapped. Their family was also told they had been killed, Emily’s sister said.
Natalie noted that her sister also has Irish citizenship. He says the Irish authorities have promised to do all they can to help.
Their father Thomas had shocked the world when, speaking to CNN, he said he was relieved by the news of Emily’s death. “She was dead. I knew she wasn’t alone, she wasn’t in Gaza, she wasn’t in a dark room, terrified every minute of every day, probably for years to come. So death was a blessing“, the father had stated.
