The president of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen from Kiev, emphasized the belief that Ukraine “can achieve its goal of advancing the accession process” if the required reforms are implemented.
In the joint press conference she gave with the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, in Kiev, Ursula von der Leyen noted that Ukraine has made “excellent progress” and praised the reforms that have been made. “We must never forget that you are waging an existential war and at the same time deeply reforming your country,” he said.

At the same time, he underlined that Ukraine is “in the process of completing the pending reforms. If this happens, I am convinced that Ukraine can achieve its ambitious goal of moving to the next stage of the accession process.”
The president of the Commission is in Ukraine for the sixth time and four days before the presentation by the Commission of the reports on the enlargement, on 8 November.
