Turkey is recalling its ambassador to Tel Aviv, Sakir Ozkan Torunlar, for consultations in Ankara, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced.

“Due to the unfolding humanitarian tragedy in Gaza caused by Israel’s continued attacks on civilians and Israel’s refusal to call for a ceasefire and the continued and unhindered flow of humanitarian aid, it has been decided to recall our ambassador to Tel Aviv, Shakir Ozkan Torunlar , in Ankara for consultations” is stated in a statement of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Couple of minutes ago, the Turkish president had announced that Turkey is ready to act as a guarantor country for Gaza.

Speaking to reporters on his return from Kazakhstan, where he attended the 10th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkish States, Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned that Turkey would do everything within its jurisdiction to hold Israel accountable to International Criminal Court for “human rights violations and war crimes,” adding that “Netanyahu is no longer someone we can talk to. We have deleted him.”

Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the European Union of not taking a fair stance in the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, as a result of which “trust in Europe has been deeply shaken”.
