The independent MP Konstantinos Floros, who was arrested earlier after a physical attack against the Hellenic Solution MP, Vassilis Grammenos, inside the Parliament, has been transferred to the building of the General Police Directorate of Attica.

The MP is being held at the State Security offices and is expected to be brought before the public prosecutor in Evelpidon within the day. Mr. Floros faces the felony charge of assaulting a member of parliament in the performance of his duties. It is noted that article 157 of the Criminal Code provides that anyone who commits violence against a member of the Parliament is punished with imprisonment of up to 10 years.

The MP Konstantinos Floros explained the reasons that led to the episode with Vassilis Grammenos speaking to MEGA.

In detail, what he said:

“The whole scene started with Mr. Chita’s speech about the removal of Mr. Velopoulos’ immunity, which is due to a lawsuit my father has filed against Mr. Velopoulos for defamation through a fake Twitter profile. Mr. Chitas mentioned at some point in his speech that Mr. Velopoulos had nothing to do with this specific case. At the time, I replied that the courts would decide that, not you. At that moment Mr. Grammenos threw himself unnecessarily and without me addressing him, he said “Voulosto, you piece of trash”. I told him “Come on c…” on my nerves because I have precedents with Mr. Grammenos. He answered me “c… your mother”. He leaves. I didn’t follow up even though I turned around and said “what did you say?” at that moment because I don’t accept anyone putting in political confrontations people who have nothing to do with the specific issue. Let alone my family and my mother who is the most sacred thing I have. That is why I do not regret any action taken when my mother is cursed. I think everyone would react the same way.

“From then on, Mr. Grammenos, instead of getting up to leave, because he got up at that moment to leave, comes back again provoking me with gestures, making k…fingers and symbols with handcuffs, that he will c…my mother and take me away inside the prison. At that moment I stood up because he was going to run away directly towards the exit of the parliament. I caught him from the front. There was also the policeman, the guard of the parliament, who had also put his hand in between. Mr. Grammenos was sticking to me with his body in front of me and I was saying to him “what did you say? Say it here in front of the policeman. Why don’t you say what you said inside and tell it to the policeman in front?’ At that moment he pushes me away, pushes me to enter the room. I out of reaction, you want to defend, reaction as you want to call it, I grabbed him by the collar and threw him down. No punches or anything else that has been said has happened in the slightest. That can be proven anyway in any way of forensics or whatever if I punched anybody. If anyone is scarred by all this it might be me. On my neck where I also have some scratches. From the collar like a headlock and I threw him down.”

Who is Konstantinos Floros?

Until February 4, 2024, Konstantinos Floros was a member of the “Spartans” Parliamentary Group, as at that time he became independent with a letter to the president of the Parliament.

On July 27, Konstantinos Floros had openly supported Ilias Kasidiaris for the Municipality of Athens. At that time, a discussion was started to delete it but it did not happen.

After the reports of the president of the “Spartians” about Greek Mafia tactics in his parliamentary group, he then placed himself outside the “Spartians” and became an independent member of parliament.
