Four years of life closes ERTFLIX and despite his short life, he has already traveled a very long way.

Its free digital platform ERT constantly gets new fanatic friends who click on the smiling little man to watch world cinema movies, Greek and foreign series, documentaries, sports, children’s, news.

On the occasion of the birthday of the most beloved Greek platform, the President of ERT Konstantinos Zoulas made the following post on FB:

“So, without realizing it, 4 whole years have passed since that afternoon when I wrote here on facebook “it could also be called ERTFLIX, but we haven’t decided on the name yet”. Then, I urged you to press the red button on your televisions and see a proposal for a digital platform that we made here at ERT during the first corona as an evolution of the hybrid television that existed before.

Not even in my wildest dreams did I imagine that the 5,000 daily visits that hybrid TV had until then would exceed 500,000 today. Nor of course that within 4 years, ERTFLIX would also become international for Greeks everywhere to see it, now traveling as an application even on Aegean planes.

Believe me especially in the last few months it seems incredible to all of us here at ERT that we are breaking one record after another, often exceeding half a million visits every day. Because ERTFLIX did, after all, nothing more than respond to the new global viewing habit that wants us all to watch our favorite programs at the time we want and not necessarily when they are shown on TV. Suffice it to say that more than 1 in 4 ERTFLIX friends (specifically 28%) watch ERTFLIX programs daily from their mobile phone – that’s why we shouldn’t trust the so-called viewing figures anymore.

On the occasion of our 4 candles, we will have a small celebration tomorrow. To say a huge thank you to the people of ERT who stayed up all night and exaggerate themselves every day, supporting from the first moment this crazy idea, but also an even bigger one to you who choose us and reward us every day”.
