What we keep and what we throw away from the week ending

What we’re keeping – what we’re throwing away this week

Sunday Axiotis

  • Hold: The news Eteron research, according to which young people do not spend the month with their earnings. The conclusion is pessimistic, but support for the proof – with numbers – of a grim reality that is not self-evident how it will be said.
  • I fly: Their 30 degrees Celsius from mid-April (Or the whining of those who complain that the temperature dropped a bit and went to 25!)

Paschalis Gaganis

  • Hold: Her collective reaction of citizens in Nisyros for the threat of deportation of the father who reported that his child was abused. The authorities are responsible for solving the case, but each of us is responsible for standing by the powerless. “Everything we have is us, except the mess.”
  • I fly: Her vulgar and massive attack on football players of the National Team, information has just been spread that there is a positive international player in a doping sample. Always without evidence and always based on the team we support. The “he can’t be good, he’s definitely stealing” logic is hardwired into us and won’t go away.

Aphrodite Gogoglou

  • Hold: Her work Generation Act – the initiative to inform and help the population of clubbers at parties and large festivals, regarding the use and control of psychoactive substances. Rather than a hypocritical attitude towards the phenomenon, it is much more useful to help – in cases where it is needed – and to ensure the physical and mental health of potential users.
  • I fly: Them ticket prices for Nick Cave’s concerts at the Onassis Foundation’s House of Letters and Arts – not because I would go but because I have seen him countless times (in Athens) and the ticket prices were always affordable for most. Will culture also become a matter for the wealthy?

Katerina Karavia

Grigoris Rachovitsas

  • Hold: Her generosity to the people. They are happier and have more friends. Many studies say so!
  • I fly: Her our obsession with quantity rather than quality. Well done to that dishonest Google algorithm. Which oppresses our lives and wants to… impose from what we will eat to what music we will listen to.

Yannis Skokas

  • Hold: The fact that the day grew.
  • I fly: The fact that we have to lay/unroll the carpets winter summer
