On a recent episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim sat down with Kourtney Kardashian to talk about the struggles of single parenthood — and how she’s constantly compared to her much-talked-about ex-husband, Kanye West, with whom she has four children.
“North, she’s going to her dad’s house. He will say: ‘Dad is the best. He has arranged everything. He doesn’t have a nanny, he doesn’t have a chef, he doesn’t have security, he lives in an apartment,” Kim explains. “And she’ll start crying: ‘Why don’t you have an apartment?’ I can’t believe we don’t have an apartment!”
“This one has the best house, because it’s not super big, but the atmosphere is much better”
Atmosphere, not luxury
Kourtney – who, for the first time in a long time, isn’t fighting with her younger sister – then shares her own similar experience. She has three children – Mason, Penelope and Reign – with ex-partner Scott Disick and is preparing to welcome her first child with husband Travis Barker.

“They do this at Scott’s house too. Like: Dad has the best house. Your house is a mess. He has the best house, because it’s not super big, but the atmosphere is much better,” says Kourtney. “I feel like everything weighs on the more connected parent.”
In an attempt to reassure her older daughter, Kim decided to temporarily ditch their private chef and cook her own sushi with North, who can clearly cut a cucumber better than her aunt, Kendall Jenner. More shocking, though, than Kim “shunning” her staff’s help, is North eating a raw onion like an apple.
“North is really special, smart and creative and definitely going her own way. Her personality is really, really silly,” Kim says in the confessional. “Kourtney always says that North is my lesson on this planet. It means I have to learn to be even more patient. She teaches me patience. It has taught me a lot about life.”
