As he explained, Personal Data Protection Authoritymay say that the exemption can be given to anyone, regardless of religion, however “the SC, which is the highest administrative court of the country, has issued four decisions, in which it clearly says that the exemption can be given alone atheists and to them from other religions.
“It cannot be given to those who are Christian Orthodox,” he noted, adding that the state must comply with the country’s highest court.
Regarding the schools, the Minister of Education stated that this year they are opening in the best conditions and with the largest number of teachers in recent years.
“For 12 years, from 2008 to 2020, not a single teacher was appointed to our schools. During the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, we have now made 25,000 permanent appointments”, he said characteristically, speaking to SKAI.
He added that during the new school year many innovations are introduced, such as expansion of the full-day school.
“Until last year, the full day ended at 4:00 p.m. and from this year in half of the country’s departments, approximately 5,500, they will operate until 5:30 p.m.,” he emphasized and added that the aim of this measure is to upgrade free public education and support for working parents.
