The infirmary Metropolitan General welcomes September by providing from 1st to 14/09/2022 thyroid tests at the preferential price of €25.
The check includes:
The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland located in the neck below the larynx. It produces two main hormones, thyroxine (T4) and tri-iodothyronine (T3), which are taken up by all cells in the body and regulate their metabolic rate.
TSH (thyrostimulating hormone) is the hormone that stimulates the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. It regulates the functioning of the thyroid and its measurement detects any under/over-functioning of it.
Anti-TPO antibodies, which are usually measured simultaneously with the measurement of anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (anti-TG), are used as indicators of autoimmune thyroid diseases, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Graves’ disease, etc.
An appointment is not required for the examination.
