“Ligo-Ligo” – Kostas Makedonas

“Ligo- Ligo” is the title of yet another special creation by Christos Stylianou – Eleni Ziogas, this time performed by the excellent Kostas Makedonas. This song comes to be added to the set of moving songs by the same creators that are heard in Mega’s ambitious production (by Andreas Georgiou, Vanas Dimitriou and Koullis Nikolaou) “Famagousta” and have already been loved by the public. It is a special, emotional ballad that gives Kostas Makedonas the opportunity to unfold a different interpretative aspect of himself and to offer us with his amazing voice a rare listening experience. The lyrics of the song are influenced by the refugee issue in Cyprus, when in 1974, thousands of Greek Cypriots were forced to leave their homes in the occupied territories and live as strangers in their own land, but also by the general refugee problem that they create historically, but also in our days, the Earth-wide wars. The meaning, however, of this political song can also be read as a metaphor in the description of a generous love affair and thus ideally illuminates the strong relationship of Michael and Simone, as it is presented to us in the context of the stormy plot of the series.

“Close To You” – Kid Moxie

Kid Moxie of “Maestro” & “Milky Way”, known for her “cinematic pop” style, returns with a new original song. This time it is about “Close To You” which is the Theme Song of the movie “Don’t Open the Door” by the sweeping Unboxholics. The film made its theatrical debut on April 25 & broke all box office records. The dark but very atmospheric “Close To You”, absorbs you from the very first listen, bringing the cinematic synthesizers and ethereal vocals that are Kid’s sonic signature. The track is part of the self-titled EP album that features additional original music composed by Kid for the film! It is worth noting that the -sought-after-thriller “Don’t Open the Door” is the film debut of the resourceful brothers Sakis and Alexandros Karpas, who as Unboxholics managed to become one of the most famous brand names in the field of entertainment in Greece.

“Utopia” – Frini Thetakis

Phryni Thetaki presents her first EP entitled “UTOPIA”. Four songs with the central theme of love in Greek and English lyrics. How utopian can love be? to what extent does it exorcise our personal demons? What is the challenge that we accept? Can everything be solved with a hug? And maybe in the end, in the journey to find the other, you mostly find yourself? All these questions led to the title, with a common meaning in both languages. “I want you to say” a tango with Balkan elements, “Challenge Accepted” a piece with pop and rock elements, “In a hug” Latin rock and to close, the ballad “In the middle of the map”, are the songs that make up the EP, a musical journey into love and its stages.

“Femaleland” – VASSIŁINA

VASSIŁINA presents the 3D video for the track “Thunder”, created by digital artist Andreas Lambropoulos. This is the third single and video from her second album, Femaleland, which was released today. It is a sonic exploration that transcends the boundaries of pop and electronic music, delving into introspection, the search for one’s true self, and the transformative power of healing. “Femmeland” consists of 13 tracks of electronic dark pop, which act as stations on a journey of VASSIŁINA’s evolution, saying goodbye to a former life in London and embracing her true self. The album is an emotional rollercoaster, delving into the complexities of mental health, chronic illness, loss and past trauma, and how one begins to love oneself through the love and trust of others. At the heart of “Femmeland” is the mythical figure of the sorceress Circe. In the first single “Crooked”, accompanied by a video clip by Giorgos Athanasiou, we see her renouncing her father, Ilio, choosing mortality, overcoming the shackles of patriarchal rules and her “ideal” self. While second single “2 Kisses” delves into Kirki’s past, exploring the dark void and societal beliefs juxtaposed against her tender nature. At the climax of the album, Kirki is on her mythical island of Femmeland, where she lives as a mortal, completely reconciled with her nature. The song of the same name was written in response to the numerous femicides that have occurred in Greece over the past two years. VASSIŁINA wanted to create a song as a tribute to her friends and all femininities, feeling that they all share a common trauma and fear. The fictional island of Femmeland is inhabited by nymphs and femininities, and any male who poses a threat is magically transformed into an animal, resulting in a harmonious coexistence of creatures. In this musical journey VASSIŁINA collaborated with TOTALWERK in the composition and co-production of the tracks “Thunder”, “Love Me”, “Crooked” and “RU Ready” and with Bhukhurah in the composition and co-production of “2 Kisses” “20 Miles”, “2 Kisses”, “Vivid” and “Hypochondria”, while the participation of Saber Rider in the synths is important. The art direction in the pictorial and visual part, which accompany the aesthetics of the album, is co-signed by VASSIŁINA and Vinyl Face with the valuable collaboration of Erifilis Doukelis (3D design), Contino (graphics) and Kostas Simos (photos). “Femmeland” is out today on all digital platforms and on purple vinyl on April 26th via Inner Ear.
