1819 The English hand over (sell) Parga to Ali Pasha, which he settles with Albanian families. 4000 Parginis are forced to uproot from their place and take refuge in the Ionian Islands.
1821 At the meeting of Karytaina, Kolokotronis becomes commander-in-chief and Topazis admiral of the rebel Greeks.

1993 The Serbian basketball player of Panionios, Boban Jankovic, is injured in the indoor game of Nea Smyrni in the Panionios-PAO match, as a result of which he is paralyzed. He would remain for 13 years in a wheelchair and die on June 28, 2006 of a heart attack during a boat trip.
1993 The plane carrying the Zambian national soccer team to Dakar, Senegal, for the 1994 World Cup qualifiers, explodes in mid-air near Libreville, Gabon. All 30 passengers of the flight met a tragic death.
