• 1819 The English hand over (sell) Parga to Ali Pasha, which he settles with Albanian families. 4000 Parginis are forced to uproot from their place and take refuge in the Ionian Islands.
• 1821 At the meeting of Karytaina, Kolokotronis becomes commander-in-chief and Topazis admiral of the rebel Greeks.
• 1826 The famous Italian composer Gioachino Rossini conducts a concert in Paris to support the Greek Revolution.

• 1923 Wembley opens its gates with the FA Cup final between Bolton and West Ham. 200,000 spectators watch the big game, which ends 2-0 in favor of Bolton.

• 1945 Benito Mussolini and his mistress Clara Petacci are captured and executed by members of the Italian Resistance while attempting to flee Italy.

• 1971 Panathinaikos defeats Red Star 3-0 and gets the ticket to Wembley. In the final of the Champions Cup, the greens will know the defeat by Ajax.
• 1992 The show “Morning Greece” with George Papadakis premieres on ANT1 TV.

• 1993 The Serbian basketball player of Panionios, Boban Jankovic, is injured in the indoor game of Nea Smyrni in the Panionios-PAO match, as a result of which he is paralyzed. He would remain for 13 years in a wheelchair and die on June 28, 2006 of a heart attack during a boat trip.
• 1993 The plane carrying the Zambian national soccer team to Dakar, Senegal, for the 1994 World Cup qualifiers, explodes in mid-air near Libreville, Gabon. All 30 passengers of the flight met a tragic death.
• 1996 In Tasmania, Australia, Martin Bryant goes on a rampage and starts shooting indiscriminately at everyone, killing 35 people and injuring 21.
• 1998 The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece elects the Most Reverend Dimitriados Christodoulos, known as Christos Paraskevaidis, as Archbishop of Athens and All Greece.

• 2001 Millionaire Dennis Tito is officially the first space tourist
