Lyggeridis murder – Fan violence: The 16-year-old is free with restrictive conditions – Apologies continue

The 16-year-old brother of the 18-year-old who has been remanded in custody for the murder of Giorgos Lyggeridis, after his apology to the investigators, was released.

He was imposed the conditions of mandatory appearance in AT and a ban on watching matches. Another defendant apologized and was released with restrictive conditions. The apologies continue.

Leaving the courts of the former Evelpidon school, the 16-year-old’s lawyer, Giorgos Lytras (who has undertaken his defense together with Stelios Augeris) said that the minor was released with the agreement of the investigator and the prosecutor. “What he said is that it has absolutely nothing to do with the events of that particular day, that he actually came out of the stadium for just a few seconds and as soon as he saw that there was going to be an incident he re-entered the stadium gate that was there from the beginning,” said Mr. Lytras.

He also stated that the case “is about pre-election sensationalism, to have any sports fan who was at the stadium that day who simply went to see the game and came out even out of curiosity to see what was happening – that there were incidents and a person lost their life it is a given – but it is unthinkable to bag 165 people for a criminal organization that the conditions of the criminal organization are specific and here in this case it does not exist. Here we are talking about young children and some of them – because most of them are unrelated to the case – were involved in the incidents and suddenly they are facing very serious charges. Some participated in episodes, yes, indeed it can arise, but that’s about it. I think that this case in court will be dropped, no charges will be filed, we are satisfied, the 16-year-old will go to his family and to his school. The restrictive conditions that have been imposed on him are not to attend matches and not to appear in the first 5 days at the police station of his area”.

At the same time, the apologies of all the accused continue.
