The 16th Student Theater Festival held for the first time in Xylokastro closed its curtain today, Friday, April 26.

Two exciting weeks of theater, expression and creation by school groups from the Peloponnese have come to an end.

Friends of the amateur theater watched excellent moments of expression by the students, who had the opportunity to come into contact with the art of theater and take us on a journey through their performances.

There were many entries and we want to thank students and teachers who traveled to our city to present their projects.

The premiere took place with the exciting documentary “Elevator” by Giorgos Palamaris, where the audience had the opportunity to delve into a journey full of emotions and upheavals.

Xylokastro participated with two schools this year, as in addition to the General High School of Xylokastro, which traditionally takes part in the Festival, we were also introduced to the theater group of 1u Xylokastro High School, consisting of students of 1u and of 2u high school. Two excellent entries, well done which received warm applause from the audience.

The Municipality of Xylokastro Eurostini expresses its great satisfaction for the success of the 16th Theater Festival and always stands by such important initiatives that promote culture.

As Karolos Koon used to say:

“We make theater to enrich ourselves, the audience that watches us and all together to help create a broad, spiritually rich and whole culture in our country.”

And this we will do at any opportunity.

PS Warm thanks to the Kalliston store for its offer and to the Katerina event hall for the perfect collaboration.
