A rumor circulating claims that Google is preparing to launch a version of the Pixel Tablet without the Charging Speaker Dock in the box.
Today a new rumor “confirms” the previous one and helpfully adds pricing information for the new dockless tablet.
This will cost less than the tablet + dock bundle currently available. In the Eurozone, anonymous retailer listings reportedly charge €446 for the 128GB model and €553 for the 256GB model for the tablet alone.
The price for the current package including the dock is €679 and €779 respectively for these two storage versions. However, the leaked pricing looks odd and may not include VAT, which varies widely between EU countries.
If we added the German VAT amount of 19%, the resulting price would be €529 for the 128GB model and €659 for the 256GB model. This is still a big discount for those who don’t need the dock.
The same unnamed retailers have also mentioned the rumored Bluetooth keyboard accessory. Its price in this stock system is €89, which may be the final selling price but may also be exclusive of VAT.
