Double honor and emotion in a modest event at the School that G. Christopoulos loved
Excitement at the renaming ceremony of the 10th Experimental Primary School of Kalamata to “Petros Themelis”, dedicated to the Professor of Archaeology, who dedicated half his life to the restoration of Ancient Messina, bringing to light the ancient state. At the same time, however, it was a thrill for the late teacher and former headmaster of the 10th Yiannis Christopoulos, – whose inspiration was to give the name of the great teacher to the school he served – with the naming of an event hall after him.
At the event organized by the School’s Teachers’ Association, the Mayor of Kalamata Thanasis Vassilopoulos attended and addressed a greeting, pointing out that it is honor for the School to bear the name of a great teacher, of the man who associated his name with Ancient Messina, the late Petros Themelis.
Mr. Vassilopoulos emphasized that the this initiative belonged to the late Yiannis Christopoulosan active, active man, who with passion and love served education and the specific School, expressing the his congratulations to the Teachers’ Association for the decision to rename the event hall to “Yiannis Christopoulos Hall”.
At the honorary event, they attended elected officials of the Local Government, representatives of the educational community, as well as teachers, students and parents of the 10u Experimental Primary School.
