A 5.9% increase on an annual basis was recorded by csingle price index of construction materials for new residential buildingswith a reference month of March 2024, compared to the corresponding index of March 2023 and against an increase of 8.9% noted when comparing the corresponding indices of the year 2023 with 2022, according to data from ELSTAT.
The main changes in the individual price indices of material categories in March 2024 compared to the corresponding month last year are found, among others, in bricks with 13.2%, safety glass 9.7%, plastic pipes 8.3%, copper ducts 7.8%, radiators 7.5% and solar water heaters 7.3%.
The General Index during the month of March 2024, compared to the index of February 2024, showed an increase of 0.4%, against an increase of 0.5% recorded when comparing the corresponding months of the year 2023.
The average index for the twelve months April 2023 – March 2024, compared to the corresponding index for the twelve months April 2022 – March 2023, showed an increase of 6.6%, compared to an increase of 11.3% recorded when comparing the corresponding previous twelve months.
