The German best seller enriches its range with the new purely electric version that produces 156 hp and ensures a range of 418 km.

Its last generation Opel Astra is based on the multi-configurable EMP2 platform that can be combined with petrol, diesel, mild hybrid, rechargeable hybrid and of course purely electric drive systems.

The latest addition to the range of the popular German small family is the 156 hp electric versionwith the domestic delegation starting its commercial course during this period.

The new Opel Astra Electric has an electric drive system consisting of a front electric motor of 156 hp and 270 Nm, lithium battery pack with a capacity of 54 kWh and a single-speed automatic transmission.

The performance announced by the German company for the 1,679 kg Astra Electric speaks for acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h.

The battery has a capacity of 54 kWh, useful 50.8 kWh, ensures a range of 418 km even with the standard integrated 11 kW charger, a full charge on an equivalent power wallbox takes just under six hours. If connected to a 100 kW fast charger, charging from 0% to 80% of the battery will take 30 minutes.

The new Opel Astra Electric is available in two equipment levels, Edition Plus and GS, with the comfort, safety and connectivity equipment being rich from the base version. At the same time, the Astra Electric launches Intelli-Drive 2.0 driver assistance systema semi-autonomous system that facilitates lane changes and maintaining speed within the legal limit.

Finally, the electric Opel Astra benefits from tax reduction for corporate electric vehicles and are fully exempt from registration fees and traffic fees, circulate freely in the Ring and are exempt from public parking fees for 2 years.

Furthermore, it is covered by a five-year or 75,000 km warranty, with that of the battery reaching eight years or 160,000 km. The starting price, excluding the €8,000 “Moving Electric 2” subsidy and the €1,000 conventional technology car retirement subsidy, is set at €45,900 for the Edition Plus and €49,900 for the GS.
