The former MP of the Spartans was taken to the offices of the General Police Directorate of Attica based on article 157 of the Criminal Code for Violence against a political body or the Government, while Mr. Grammenos was taken to the hospital.

The serious incident that resulted in the injury of Mr. Grammenos, activated, with the immediate intervention of the Speaker of the Parliament, Kostas Tasoulas, the criminal procedure.

As the president of the Parliament, Konstantinos Tasoulas said, article 157 of the Criminal Code provides that anyone who commits violence against a member of the Parliament is punished with up to 10 years in prison. He also emphasized that Mr. Grammenos did not even have time to vote in the ongoing vote of the Parliament. He even pointed out that parliamentary immunity covers misdemeanors but not felonies, so “we can charge the perpetrator of this vulgar and barbaric attack with a felon.”

According to the medical release, Mr. Grammenos suffered: fractured nasal bones, sprain and strain of the acromioclavicular joint, traumatic carpal and fifeocarpal ligament tears, and other specified nasal disorders
