Tax declarations: Probably today (25/4) the platform opens

Pre-filled tax declarations and their automatic sending by AADE.

Within the current week, the platform is expected to open for the submission of tax returnswith the information indicating that it will probably take place today, Thursday (25/4).

The Minister of Finance, Kostis Hatzidakisin an interview a few days ago, he clarified that this year no extension will be given to the submission of tax returns, with the process running until July 31.

This means that taxpayers will have one month more than usual to proceed with the process.

“We will not give an extension, I am against extensions. (…) I don’t like these, we have so many months at our disposal” he pointed out in particular.

Changes to tax returns

It is noted that as of this year, a new tax procedure code is in effect, which has brought changes regarding declarations.

In detail, the changes that apply, according to the information provided by the financial advisor Yiannis Hatzisalatas via OPEN, are as follows:

• Pre-filled declarations
• If someone is only employed or only retired, if they do not submit a declaration by the deadline, AADE will automatically send it itself
• Interim determination of tax for suspicious seasonal businesses
• Non-presentation of income and expenses for second-class books. AADE draws data automatically.
• Time frame of checks will be strictly one year. In exceptional cases, a 6-month extension will be granted
• 50% discount for any taxpayer who is audited and accepts the result of the audit in 10 days
• Electronic notification of citizens by e-mail
• Revival of old settings (70 – 100 – 120 doses)
• Three-month limit for submitting VAT income returns, settlement of overdue debts
• Digital carrier interoperability
