Tens of thousands of passengers in France will see their flights canceled on Thursday, despite the lifting of the warning for strike which had been announced by the largest union of air traffic controllers.

According to updates from the airlines, it is going to cancelled 75% of flights to Paris-Orly airport and 55% of flights to Paris-Roissy airport.

These reductions in scheduled flights, which were requested by General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC), they will reach 65% at Marseille-Provence Airport (southeast France) and 45% at the other airports in metropolitan France. Those rates are, according to the airports, the same as or slightly less than those originally requested Tuesday night, before the managements announced a deal with the union, SNCTA.

According to Swiss media, Transavia, of the Air France-KLM group, announced the cancellation of 198 flights on Thursday, while Air France intended to update its schedule on Wednesday but warned that “significant cancellations and delays are expected”.

About 1,100 passengers are affected by flight cancellations to Switzerland, Swiss said.

EasyJet also announced flight cancellations on Wednesday morning: twelve departures from Geneva and as many arrivals from various regional airports in France, according to Geneva airport.
