The independent MP, Konstantinos Floros, will be brought before the investigator for his apology at noon after the unprecedented incident that happened yesterday in the Parliament with the Hellenic Solution MP, Vassilis Grammenos.

THE Konstantinos Floroswho remained in custody since yesterday, is charged with a felony for the violence against the deputy during the exercise of his duties.

The serious incident, which resulted in the injury of Mr. Grammenos, activated, with the direct intervention of the Speaker of the Parliament Kostas Tassoulas, the spontaneous procedurefor committing a felony and thus the independent MP was arrested immediately after his act.

Mr. Grammenos has broken nasal bones, sprained his jawtraumatic ligament rupture of the wrist and forearm, according to the medical release. Doctors recommended rest and a 10-day sick leave. However, Mr. Floros denies punching him.

According to the defendant’s lawyer, Vassos Pantazisof the incident it was preceded by a “vulgar verbal attack” by the victim to its principal. The advocate mentioned in “justified indignation”, as “provided and defined in the criminal law”. At the same time, Mrs. Pantazi, expressing surprise at the criminal charge against Mr. Floros, spoke of “legal exaggeration” over an unfortunate personal incident, according to ERT.

In photos from the corridors of the Parliament, it seems that the Hellenic Solution MP has fallen to the ground and pretending to rush towards the two men to keep them at a distance.

Floros Parliament attack

ND MP, Stratos Simopoulos declared, since he was also an eyewitness: “I was in front of this despicable incident which proves that inside the Parliament there is Kassidiarism from parties that define themselves as right-wing. He punched the Hellenic Solution MP in front of my eyes. The Hellenic Solution MP fell to the floor. And he even went to the doctor’s office of the Parliament while the other was shouting. It turns out there is a prehistory».

The unprecedented episode in parliamentary times took place during the debate on the lifting of the immunity of Kyriakos Velopoulos. According to the current independent and former MP of the Spartans, Konstantinos Floros, there had been a vulgar attack against him by the Hellenic Solution MP.

What happened

The occasion for the episode was the discussion in the Plenary of the Parliament of the removal of the immunity of the president of the Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulosthe case of which related to defamation through a false account on a social network submitted by a Navy SEAL officer.

Mr. Floros, whose the father had filed the lawsuit against Mr. Velopouloshad asked to take the floor in the Plenary however the regulation did not allow it and it was not given to himreacting to the report of the parliamentary representative of the Hellenic Solution Konstantinou Chita, for carbine pre-election political expediency which, although it does not concern Mr. Velopoulos, requested the lifting of his immunity in order to appear before his natural judge.

According to reports, in the Plenary there was a verbal confrontation between Mr. Floros and Mr. Grammenos. The same information states that Mr. Floros reacted by shouting at Mr. Chita that “this will be decided by the judges”, Mr. Grammenos responded with heavy characterizations.

When the two men walked out of the Plenary Mr. Floros attacked him, grabbed him by the neck, punched him and threw him to the floor. It is noted that Mr. Grammenos, according to the same information, had filed a lawsuit against Mr. Floros’ father for defamation through the press and insult.

The reactions of the political world

“Unacceptable” he called Pavlos Marinakis what happened in the Parliament, with the beating of the member of the Hellenic Solution, Vassilis Grammenos, by the independent member of parliament, Konstantinos Floros, but also the “admonition”, as he called it, of Kyriakos Velopoulos to the members of the ND, who voted for him marriage of same-sex couples, not to go to church.

“The acts of violence, the practices of the extremes and the vulgar rhetoric of populism, return us to times that the country has left behind irretrievably and society has generally rejected”, notes, among other things, the government representative.

Analytically, Pavlos Marinakis points out in his statement that “what happened in the Parliament is unacceptable and uncharacteristic and not consistent with the Democratic polity. MPs turned the Parliament premises into a ring and a party leader threatens, indirectly but clearly, MPs, warning them not to go to church on Easter” and adds: “The acts of violence, the practices of the extremes and the vulgar rhetoric of populism, return us to times when the country has left behind irretrievably and society as a whole has rejected. We must, as a political system and as a society, stand against – and we will continue to do so – all these logics that have led the country to the brink of the cliff. We are against violence, against the phenomena of the emasculation of Democracy, against thuggery and threats”.

“We join our voice with the Speaker of the Parliament against this miserable incident,” said the ND parliamentary representative. Thanos Pleuris.

THE SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance unequivocally and unequivocally condemns the beating of the “Hellenic Solution” MP, Vassilis Grammenos, by the former “Spartias” MP, Konstantinos Floros, right outside the Plenary Chamber of the Parliament.

“This unprecedented and unimaginable incident demonstrates the contempt of far-right formations for parliament and emphatically reminds us of the danger posed to our Republic by the tolerance of hate speech and thuggery. Inside and outside the Parliament”, emphasizes SYRIZA.

From the official opposition, they add that “all progressive forces must raise a wall of solidarity and respect against the challenges of the far-right who want to turn the Parliament and Greek society into a jungle”.

“Democratic citizens must be vigilant, and isolate far-right, fascist perceptions, positions and behaviors,” said the SYRIZA-PS parliamentary representative. D. Kalamatianoswho agreed with the imposition of disciplinary measures against K. Floros.

“We unequivocally condemn, not only physical violence, but also those who incite physical violence against Members of Parliament”, said the parliamentary representative of PASOK-Movement of Change, D. Manzos.

“Fascism and the extreme right cannot be dealt with by legal means, but the people must crush it and send it to the dustbin of history,” said the parliamentary representative of the KKE. Thanasis Pafilis.

Commenting on the episode, Kyriakos Velopoulos he considered it “unthinkable, for the life-parts of politics, to behave violently as sheep-like wolves. Everyone can find as many excuses as they want […] Do you know what is the difference between humans and other animals? Animals may react if you tease them. But man differs in mind, judgment and logic, which some people do not have here, unfortunately”.

“Fantastic” characterizes the Greek solution the debate that saw the light of day, between the MP of the Hellenic Solution, Vassilis Grammenos, and the MP of the Spartans, Konstantinos Floros, before the beating of the former by the latter, in the Parliament.

“For some time now, one has been circulating on all sites imaginative so-called dialogue, between the MP of the Hellenic Solution Vassilis Grammenos and the MP of the Spartans Konstantinos Floros. The dialogue in question was given by the accused himself – now for a felony – but also by some others “well-wishers”who attempt to involve the Greek Solution, inventing him, as a line of defense“, the Hellenic Solution emphasizes in its announcement.

Also, the press office of the party points out: “We call on all media to refrain from reproducing it, otherwise we will be forced to resort to Justice».

“Today’s incident reminds us of what the political forces of the extreme right and fascism are, how they operate and what they stand for,” said the New Left MP. M. Tzoufi.

The president of KO Spartanates condemned the incident, B. Stigas calling on the president of the Parliament to give the particular MP the longest possible sentence “so that there are no such miserable incidents in here”.

“Such events are the problems of the specific education we have today in our schools” said the president of KO Niki, N. Natsios: “When apples are sour, it is not the fault of the apples but the fault of the apple trees. And the parents are also apples, the teachers are too, the politicians are too,” said Mr. Natsios.
